As weeks spent in quarantine continue to go by, it’s easy to forget that our days weren’t always spent stuck between the same four walls everyday. But nature goes it’s own way and while the world has been gripped by the COVID-19 pandemic, spring has come and slowly, but surely the summer months are too creeping in towards us. It’s the best & most fun time of the year, so arm yourself with some more patience, because the crisis will soon be over and good things are coming our way! To help you with this task, here’s a little sneak-peak of what’s in store just around the corner, I hope you enjoy it!
It’s the end of June and the sun is shining high and bright. You’ve rented out a cabin in the woods with your friends and drive for several hours through the countryside to get there. The lush green scenery offers a refreshing change from the stagnant urban landscape, which often numbs down the senses. A flood of forgotten sounds & smells rushes through your body and sends little tingles down your back as you step out of the car upon arrival. All this sensory work is pretty exhausting and after unloading the luggage, the next logical step is a big, rich lunch with everyone, almost like a feast. There’s no shortage of food and your sense of appetite is matched only by the group’s mood as jokes & giggles fly out in all directions.
The banquet is finally over and now you’re feeling a bit heavy and tired and want to lie down. There’s a big tree right in front of the cabin and the temptation is just impossible to resist. The grass is soft and offers a refreshing scent that fills your lungs with delight. You’re lying under the shade of the tree, head in your hands and succumb to your feet’s wishes to stretch them out. No shoes, no socks. You feel the cool summer breeze dancing all over your toes, ears and nose, as you watch the cotton-white clouds race each other on the clear blue sky.
The air around you is hot and wavy, but the you’re shielded under the oasis tree. You stretch your legs a bit more to get your feet in the sun’s warm rays. Eyes now closed, the only sounds you hear are birds chirping and the gentle rustling of the leaves and grass.
As music from a nearby speaker starts playing, your body is effortlessly floating amongst the clouds and sun. Peace and serenity are your only companions and all is well within the world. A tiny smile rests on your face.
